This pattern includes an optional shoulder closure and 2 pocket options so you can mix & match to create multiple versions of this sweatshirt. Make it sporty and practical with the kangaroo pocket or add a contrast chest pocket with that awesome left over fabric you have lying around!

Techniques involved include sewing with knits, straight seams and attaching ribbing.
62 - 116 |  0-3m - 5-6y
Confident beginner  Skill level confident beginner
Main body and sleeves. Light to medium weight sweater knits, interlock or french terry with 25% stretch (lycra or elastane). 
0.5 meter/yard for sizes 62 - 104 | 0-3M - 3-4y
0,75 meter/yard for sizes 110 - 116 | 4-5y - 5-6y
Waistband, neckband & cuffs. Rib knit fabric or a medium weight, cotton/elastane blend jersey with 25% stretch. 
1/4 meter/yard for all sizes

Fusible interfacing for knits (only for shoulder closure)

Small piece of contrast fabric for chest pocket.
Ballpoint sewing needle
2 or 3 snap buttons (only for shoulder closure)
Sewing machine / Serger. When using a sewing machine, use a knit stitch or small zigzag stitch in place of the serged seam. Finish the seams with a big zigzag stitch.
