Transformative. That is the word that best describes the Doris skirt for adults pattern test. With the help of 43 amazing testers, among which 8 pregnant ladies - we’ve perfected, adjusted, transformed the Doris skirt pattern to become a versatile, year- round wardrobe staple and must have pattern! Obviously that’s always the goal of a pattern test. But unexpectedly this test also was transformative for (my own personal) body positivity.
We all come in beautiful shapes and sizes. And whether we’re tall, short, skinny or curvy - we all have our own personal issues with our bodies. Even though they might seem silly to others! Our little temporary Doris skirt testing community consisted of a warm and positive group of amazing women. With a body hugging skirt like Doris a lot of emphasis is put on one’s shape and we all got to share our uncertainties openly and without fear of being judged.
In testing the Doris, many stepped out of their comfort zones. Boundaries were pushed. Confidence got a boost. We all walked away happily with some cool Doris skirts. But most importantly, we walked away feeling GOOD IN our Doris skirts & feeling a little better about ourselves in general. Well, at least that’s how I feel!
